In the opening game of the tournament on Friday, July 8th, Dell Rapids broke a 3-3 tie with 13 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning for a 16-3 win.\u00a0 Dell Rapids scored the first three runs in the bottom of the first inning, but Tri-Valley tied the game in the top of the second.\u00a0 Tristen Bunde had an RBI single.\u00a0 Denton Bicknase reached on an error that scored Bunde, and Mason Hemme had an RBI ground out.<\/p>\n
Bunde had a hit and an RBI.\u00a0 Treyson Richter and Parker Hemme both had a single.\u00a0 M. Hemme and Bicknase each had an RBI.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, July 9th, Tri-Valley held off elimination with a big 19-4 win over Lennox.\u00a0 Tri-Valley jumped on Lennox for eight runs in the top of the first inning.\u00a0 They got five more in the second, and then three runs each in the third and fourth innings.\u00a0 Lennox scored all four of their runs in the bottom of the third.<\/p>\n
Bunde had three hits, one a double, and two RBIs.\u00a0 Bicknase finished with two hits and two RBIs.\u00a0 Gage Egger had two hits and an RBI.\u00a0 Kaiden Bernards and Parker Atwood both had a hit and two RBIs.\u00a0 M. Hemme and P. Hemme both added a single.\u00a0 Myles DeWitt had an RBI.<\/p>\n
Bunde pitched two innings and allowed two hits with three strikeouts.\u00a0 Bernards pitched 1 1\/3 innings and recorded a strikeout.\u00a0 Egger pitched 2\/3 of an inning and allowed four runs, none of them earned, on three hits and two walks with a strikeout.<\/p>\n
Tri-Valley and Dell Rapids met again in an elimination game on Monday, July 11th.<\/p>\n
Tri-Valley struck first with two runs in the top of the second.\u00a0 Dylan Christensen scored on a balk, and Jackson Williams had an RBI ground out.\u00a0 They would add two more runs in the top of the third.\u00a0 Atwood had an RBI ground out, and Egger had an RBI sacrifice fly to give Tri-Valley a 4-0 lead.<\/p>\n
Dell Rapids cut the lead in half with two runs in the bottom of the third, and then took the lead in the bottom of the fourth with three runs.\u00a0 Tri-Valley tied the game 5-5 with a run in the top of the sixth when Bernards scored on an error.\u00a0 Dell Rapids, however, scored four times in the bottom of the sixth for the 9-5 win.<\/p>\n
