The two teams went back and forth throughout the game, but a seven-run fifth for West Central led them to a 13-8 victory on Friday.<\/p>\n
West Central scored three runs in the bottom of the first for an early 3-0 lead.\u00a0 Tri-Valley took the lead in the top of the second.\u00a0 Mayson Rise had a two-run single and then later scored on a passed ball, and Ledger Burggraff also scored on a passed ball for a 4-3 lead.\u00a0 West Central responded with two runs in the bottom of the second and another in the third for a 6-4 lead after three innings of play.<\/p>\n
Tri-Valley had another four-run inning in the top of the fifth.\u00a0 Rise brought home two more runs with a single, Levi Kretzschmar scored on a passed ball, and Benjamin Myhre had an RBI double to give Tri-Valley an 8-6 lead.\u00a0 West Central then scored seven times in the bottom of the fifth for the win.<\/p>\n
Rise had two hits and four RBIs.\u00a0 Everett Althoff also had two hits.\u00a0 Myhre had a double and an RBI.\u00a0 C Carter Sorenson, Kretzschmar, and Burggraff each had a single.\u00a0 Althoff pitched two innings and allowed six runs, three earned, on six hits and a walk with two strikeouts.\u00a0 Sorenson pitched 2 2\/3 innings and allowed seven earned runs on six hits and three walks with four strikeouts.<\/p>\n
Madison scored the first 11 runs and won 13-4 over Tri-Valley on Saturday.\u00a0 The top of the first inning ended with two runs in the top of the first.\u00a0 Madison scored four more times in the top of the second, and five in the top of the fourth for an 11-0 lead.<\/p>\n
Hunter Foster and Kretzschmar had back-to-back RBI doubles in the bottom of the fourth.\u00a0 Both Madison and Tri-Valley scored two times in the fifth inning.\u00a0 Sorenson had an RBI double, and Rise scored on a passed ball for Tri-Valley.<\/p>\n
Rise had two hits.\u00a0 Kretzschmar, Foster, and Sorenson all had a double and an RBI.\u00a0 Alex Wingen also had a double.\u00a0 Althoff and Burggraff each finished with a single.\u00a0 Myhre pitched four innings and allowed 11 runs, six earned, on nine hits and four walks with two strikeouts.\u00a0 Lofswold pitched two innings and allowed two earned runs on four hits and a walk with a strikeout.<\/p>\n
A 4-4 tie after six innings was broken with a bases-loaded walk in the top of the seventh by Dell Rapids for a 5-4 win on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Sorenson had an RBI double in the bottom of the first to give Tri-Valley a 1-0 lead.\u00a0 Dell Rapids tied the game with a run in the top of the second, but Kretzschmar scored on an error in the bottom of the inning to keep the lead with Tri-Valley, 2-1.<\/p>\n
Dell Rapids took the lead in the top of the third with three runs.\u00a0 Tri-Valley made sure the lead didn’t last long as they scored twice in the bottom of the inning.\u00a0 Sorenson had another RBI hit, and then Althoff also had an RBI single for a 4-4 tie.<\/p>\n
Sorenson had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs.\u00a0 Althoff had two hits and a single.\u00a0 Wingen, Foster, Kretzschmar, and Rise all had singles.\u00a0 Wingen pitched 6 1\/3 innings and allowed four runs, one earned, on 12 hits and two walks with five strikeouts.\u00a0 Lofswold pitched 2\/3 of an inning and allowed an earned run on three walks with two strikeouts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
