The Tri-Valley\u00a0 High School club baseball team played three games in three straight days Friday, May 13th through Sunday, May 15th.\u00a0 Tri-Valley played Sioux Falls Christian Friday, Tea Saturday, and Flandreau\/Chester Sunday winning two of those games.<\/p>\n
Tri-Valley scored six unanswered runs and led 6-0 going into the bottom of the sixth inning and hung on for a 6-2 win over Sioux Falls Christian on Friday, May 13th.<\/p>\n
Connor Christensen had a two-run double in the top of the third inning giving Tri-Valley an early 2-0 lead.\u00a0 Christensen drove home another run with a single in the top of the fifth, and Barrett Althoff followed with an RBI double for a 4-0 lead.\u00a0 Everett Althoff had an RBI bunt single in the top of the sixth and later scored on a passed ball giving Tri-Valley a 6-0 lead.\u00a0 Sioux Falls Christian got a single run in the sixth and seventh innings.<\/p>\n
Christensen had two hits, one a double, and three RBIs.\u00a0 Noah Haynes and Riley Carlson both had two doubles each.\u00a0 B. Althoff had a double and an RBI.\u00a0 E. Althoff had a hit and an RBI.\u00a0 Cole Focken and Lawson Loiseau each had a hit as well. Tyler Groenewold pitched all seven innings allowing two runs, both unearned, on five hits with a walk while striking out seven.<\/p>\n
Tea scored eight times in the first two innings on their way to an 10-3 win over Tri-Valley on Saturday, May 14th.<\/p>\n
Tri-Valley scored two times in the top of the first inning.\u00a0 Christensen reached on an error that scored Carter Sorenson and Riley Carlson.\u00a0 Tea’s offense responded with six runs in the bottom of the first inning and two more in the second for an 8-2 lead.\u00a0 They scored another run in the bottom of the fifth inning.\u00a0 Tri-Valley got back on the board with a run in the top of the sixth.\u00a0 Loiseau scored on a wild pitch.<\/p>\n
Carlson, B. Althoff, and Loiseau each had a single for Tri-Valley’s three total hits.\u00a0 Kaden Egger pitched 3 2\/3 innings allowing eight runs, five earned, on 10 hits with two strikeouts.\u00a0 Alex Wingen pitched two innings allowing two runs, one earned, on a hit and three walks while striking out three.<\/p>\n
Tri-Valley scored nine times in the top of the seventh inning for a 13-9 come-from-behind win over Flandreau\/Chester on Sunday, May 15th.<\/p>\n
Flandreau\/Chester scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning.\u00a0 Tri-Valley took the lead in the top of the second with three runs.\u00a0 Christsen scored on a fielder’s choice ground ball by Haynes.\u00a0 Wingen had an RBI single, and Haynes scored on a passed ball.\u00a0 The lead was short-lived as Flandreau\/Chester scored five times in the bottom of the second for a 6-3 lead.\u00a0 Groenewold scored on a wild pitch in the top of the fourth inning to pull Tri-Valley within two at 6-4.\u00a0 Flandreau\/Chester added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth for a 9-4 lead.<\/p>\n
Tri-Valley’s offense took advantage of opportunities in the top of the seventh.\u00a0 Flandreau\/Chester committed five errors and allowed three walks.\u00a0 Tri-Valley had three hits on top of that while scoring nine times.\u00a0 Sorensen had a two-run double.\u00a0 Christensen reached on an error that scored two more runs to cut the lead to 9-8.\u00a0 Haynes had an RBI single to tie the game 9-9.\u00a0 Wingen reached on an error that scored the go-ahead run.\u00a0 Loiseau drew a bases-loaded walk, and Carlson reached on an error that scored the final two runs.<\/p>\n
Sorenson had a double and two RBIs.\u00a0 Haynes and Wingen both had a hit and two RBIs each.\u00a0 Loiseau had a single and an RBI.\u00a0 Carlson and Groenewold each had a single.\u00a0 Christensen added two RBIs as well.\u00a0 Carlson pitched four innings allowing nine runs, only three earned, on six hits and four walks with four strikeouts.\u00a0 Sorenson pitched three innings of no-hit baseball while walking two and striking out six batters.<\/p>\n\n\n
