In the first game of the weekend, Tri-Valley scored two runs in the bottom of the first and four more in the bottom of the second for an early 6-0 lead.\u00a0 Each team picked up a run in the third inning.\u00a0 After a scoreless fourth inning, Tri-Valley added two more in the fifth in the win.<\/p>\n
Lawson Schneiderman had two hits, one a triple, and two RBIs.\u00a0 Will Winter also had two hits.\u00a0 Parker Atwood added a triple with two RBIs.\u00a0 Patrick Tromblee had a single with an RBI.\u00a0 Gerrit Koopman had one hit.\u00a0 Atwood pitched five innings and allowed an unearned run on three hits and four walks with seven strikeouts.<\/p>\n
Two big innings helped Tri-Valley get the win over Fargo.\u00a0 They started the game with a four-run top of the first inning.\u00a0 Tri-Valley got one more run in the top of the fourth for a 5-0 lead.\u00a0 They would then have a six-run fifth inning to extend the lead to 11-0.\u00a0 Fargo scored their two runs in the bottom of the fifth.<\/p>\n
Aboot Moeller and Tromblee both had two hits and an RBI each.\u00a0 Reed Smith had a single and two RBIs.\u00a0 Koopman had a triple with an RBI.\u00a0 Evan Focken added a single and an RBI.\u00a0 Winter ended with a triple, and Schneiderman had a single.\u00a0 Winter pitched five innings and allowed two unearned runs on four hits and four walks with three strikeouts.<\/p>\n
The same teams faced each other on Saturday.\u00a0 Tri-Valley again defeated Brookings.\u00a0 They scored four times in the bottom of the first and then had a 10-run second inning for a 14-0 lead.\u00a0 Brookings scored two runs in the top of the third.\u00a0 The game ended on the 10-run rule after the top of the fourth inning.<\/p>\n
Smith had two hits, one a double.\u00a0 Atwood finished with a double and an RBI.\u00a0 Focken added a single and an RBI.\u00a0 Schneiderman and Moeller both had an RBI.<\/p>\n
Fargo rallied for four runs in the bottom of the sixth to get a come-from-behind win on Saturday.\u00a0 After a scoreless first inning, Fargo got a run in the bottom of the second for a 1-0 lead.\u00a0 Tri-Valley scored two times in the top of the fourth to take a 2-1 lead.\u00a0 Fargo, however, scored four in the bottom of the sixth to take the win.<\/p>\n
Tromblee had three hits in the game.\u00a0 Focken and Winter both had a single with an RBI.\u00a0 Koopman and Atwood each had a double.\u00a0 Focken pitched 5 2\/3 innings and allowed five runs, three earned, on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts.<\/p>\n
A rally in the late innings gave Tri-Valley a win over Marshall on Sunday.\u00a0 Tri-Valley scored the first run of the game in the top of the second.\u00a0 Marshall tied the game, 1-1, with a run in the bottom of the fourth.\u00a0 Tri-Valley then scored two in the fifth, one in the sixth, and three more in the top of the seventh to pull away for a 7-1 win.<\/p>\n
Dante Nehman and Focken each finished with two hits, each with a double, and each with an RBI.\u00a0 Tromblee had a single.\u00a0 Atwood, Schneiderman, and Smith all had one RBI each.\u00a0 Schneiderman pitched six innings and allowed an earned run on seven hits and four walks with four strikeouts.<\/p>\n
In the championship game of the tournament, Midwest Vandals took the win in a back-and-forth contest.\u00a0 Tri-Valley took a 2-0 lead with two runs in the top of the first.\u00a0 Midwest Vandals scored a run in the second and two more in the bottom of the third to go in front 3-2.\u00a0 Tri-Valley regained the lead 5-3 with three runs in the top of the fourth.\u00a0 Midwest Vandals also scored three times in the bottom of the inning to retake the lead, 6-5.\u00a0 Tri-Valley tied the game, 6-6, with another run in the top of the fifth.\u00a0 Midwest Vandals, however, scored three in the bottom of the fifth and one more in the sixth for a 10-6 lead.\u00a0 Tri-Valley scored two times in the top of the seventh, but the come-back rally fell short.<\/p>\n
