The Mustangs had a 15-run third inning in their 16-0 win over the Quarriers while holding Dell Rapids hitless.\u00a0 After a scoreless first inning, Ava Christensen had an RBI sacrifce fly in the second for a 1-0 lead.\u00a0 With one out in the bottom of the third, the Mustangs had 11 total hits and took advantage of three errors in the inning for the big win.<\/span><\/p>\n Emry Jones had three hits and three RBIs.\u00a0 Hailey Sorenson added two singles and four RBIs.\u00a0 Syenna Halverson ended with two hits and an RBI.\u00a0 Christensen had a single and two RBIs.\u00a0 Rowyn Gacke, Mattie Huwe, and Isabella Wetmore-Ocampo all had a hit and an RBI.\u00a0 Kadence Davey also had a hit.\u00a0 Jones pitched three innings walking two batters and striking out six.<\/p>\n The Mustangs built a 4-1 lead and then stopped a Charger rally in the top of the seventh to get the win.\u00a0 Sioux Falls Christian scored a run in the top of the first.\u00a0 The Mustangs responded two runs in the bottom of the inning on RBIs by Davey and Jones.\u00a0 The score remained 2-1 until the bottom of the fifth.\u00a0 Davey had a two-run double to extend the lead to 4-1.\u00a0 The Chargers scored two times in the top of the seventh and had the tying run on third, but a ground out to Jones ended the game.<\/p>\n Davey had two hits, one a double, and three RBIs.\u00a0 Jones finished with a single and an RBI.\u00a0 Gacke ended with a triple.\u00a0 Huwe, Haleigh Wallenstein, and Wetmore-Ocampo all had one hit each.\u00a0 Davey pitched six innings and allowed two unearned runs on three hits and five walks with nine strikeouts.\u00a0 Jones pitched one inning and allowed an earned run on a hit and two walks.<\/p>\n An early lead helped the Mustangs get the third win on the day.\u00a0 Tri-Valley scored four times right away in the bottom of the first.\u00a0 Beresford scored one time in the top of the third, but the Mustangs had a six-run bottom of the third for a 10-1 lead.\u00a0 The Watchdogs put four runs on the board in the top of the fourth to make the score 10-5.\u00a0 Tri-Valle would have a big six-run bottom of the fourth to extend the lead to 16-5.\u00a0 The game ended on the 10-run rule after the top of the fifth.<\/p>\n Gacke ended with two hits and three RBIs.\u00a0 Christensen had two hits, one a home run, and two RBIs.\u00a0 Davey and Jones both had two hits and two RBIs each.\u00a0 Wallenstein added a double and an RBI.\u00a0 Halverson and Wetmore-Ocampo both had a hit and an RBI.\u00a0 Huwe also had a hit.\u00a0 Jones pitched five innings and allowed five runs, all unearned, on six hits and two walks with nine strikeouts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The Tri-Valley Mustang softball team earned three more wins at the Watchdog Classic in Beresford on Saturday, May 9th to improve to 13-1 on the season.
