In their first game of the tournament, Tri-Valley scored in every inning but one while cruising to a win over Harrisburg.\u00a0 They scored two times in the top of the first inning.\u00a0 Harrisburg got one run back in the bottom of the first.\u00a0 After a scoreless second inning, Tri-Valley scored a run in the third and then five more in the top of the fourth for an 8-1 lead.\u00a0 Each team put two runs on the board in the fifth inning.\u00a0 Tri-Valley would get their final two runs in the top of the sixth.<\/p>\n
Bentley McMillen had four hits, one a triple.\u00a0 Abbott Moeller had three hits and four RBIs.\u00a0 Jackson Williams added a single with an RBI.\u00a0 Cooper Nielsen had a hit, and Parker Atwood had two RBIs.\u00a0 Atwood also pitched four innings and allowed an earned run on four hits and a walk with eight strikeouts.<\/p>\n
Four early runs helped Tri-Valley to a win over Watertown also on Friday.\u00a0 They scored four times in the bottom of the first.\u00a0 Watertown scratched across a run in the top of the second inning.\u00a0 Tri-Valley got that run back in the bottom of the third for a 5-1 lead.\u00a0 Watertown got another run in the top of the fifth.\u00a0 Again Tri-Valley responded, this time with two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.\u00a0 Watertown plated two runs in the top of the seventh, but the rally was stopped there.<\/p>\n
Williams finished with two hits and three RBIs.\u00a0 Cole Hendrixson had two hits and two RBIs.\u00a0 Nielsen also had two hits.\u00a0 Moeller and McMillen both had one hit each.<\/p>\n
In their first game on Saturday, Tri-Valley took care of business against Aberdeen.\u00a0 Tri-Valley scored a run in the top of the first, four in the second, and two more in the third for a 7-0 lead.\u00a0 Aberdeen got their lone run in the bottom of the third inning.\u00a0 Tri-Valley added two more in the top of the fifth.<\/p>\n
McMillen finished with three hits, one a double.\u00a0 Hendrixson had a double and triple with an RBI.\u00a0 Atwood had two hits with an RBI.\u00a0 Moeller finished with a single and two RBIs.\u00a0 Evan Focken also had two RBIs.\u00a0 Focken pitched 3 1\/3 innings and allowed an unearned run on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts.<\/p>\n
Tri-Valley briefly led in the game, but New Ulm handed them their first loss of the tournament.\u00a0 New Ulm scored two times in the top of the first inning.\u00a0 Tri-Valley countered with four runs in the bottom of the first for a 4-2 lead.\u00a0 New Ulm then scored three in the second and two in the third for a 7-4 lead.\u00a0 They put the game out of reach with an 11-run top of the sixth inning.<\/p>\n
Nielsen finished with a single and an RBI.\u00a0 McMillen and Atwood each had one hit. Williams pitched three innings and allowed one earned run on three hits.<\/p>\n
Jamestown ended the tournament for Tri-Valley on Saturday.\u00a0 They scored a run in the top of the first and two in the second for an early 3-0 lead.\u00a0 Tri-Valley got a run in the bottom of the second.\u00a0 Each team would also get a run in the third, and Jamestown led 4-2 after three innings.\u00a0 Tri-Valley cut the lead to 4-3 with another run in the bottom of the fourth inning.\u00a0 Jamestown, however, would get five runs in the top of the fifth, one in the sixth, and then four more in the top of the seventh to pull away for the win.<\/p>\n
