Jewett’s free throw for 1,000th career point<\/em><\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

Paige Jewett made her 1,000th point of her career after two made free throws with 4:35 to go in a win over the Colman-Egan Hawks at the Sacred Hoops\/First National Bank Girls Classic held at the Elmen Center on Saturday, January 29th.\u00a0 The Mustangs won 63-55.<\/p>\n

The Hawks built a five-point lead, their largest of the game, in the first quarter and continued to lead by five points, 15-10, at the quarter break.\u00a0 Tri-Valley was able to get the game tied 17-17 and then again at 19-19.\u00a0 Colman-Egan finished the half on a 4-0 run to lead 23-19 at halftime.<\/p>\n

The Mustang offense got rolling in the second half.\u00a0 They outscored the Hawks 15-4 for a 34-27 lead with 3:35 to go in the third quarter.\u00a0 Tri-Valley continued to lead by seven at the end of the quarter, 42-35.\u00a0 The Mustangs continued to hold about a seven point lead through the first half of the fourth quarter.\u00a0 Jewett’s two free throws for her 1,000th point put Tri-Valley ahead 51-42.\u00a0 Colman-Egan could only get as close as six points, 61-55, with :15 to play in the game.<\/p>\n

Jewett was the player of the game for the Mustangs finishing with 28 points and three rebounds.\u00a0 Stephanie Buchmann had 18 points, five rebounds, and two assists.\u00a0 Lauren Grinde added 12 points, four rebounds, and four assists.\u00a0 Ava Pearson had four points and nine rebounds.<\/p>\n

Tri-Valley finished the game shooting 43% (19-44) from the field, 40% (8-20) from three-point area, and 77% (17-22) from the free-throw line.\u00a0 Colman-Egan was 32% (17-53) shooting, 29% (4-14) from three-point area, and 61% (17-28) from the free-throw line.<\/p>\n

Jewett’s older brother, Noah, also made his 1,000th point on a free throw at the Elmen Center.<\/p>\n
