The De Smet Bulldog cross country team had three runners qualify for the state tournament at the Region 2B meet in Arlington on Wednesday, October 11th. The boys team finished fourth overall with 45 points. The girls team had a fifth place finish with 58 points.
Adalyn Gross placed eighth and qualified for the state meet with a time of 21:40.19. Charli McCune (22nd) had a time of 23:34.03. Gemma Luethmers (28th) finished in 24:11.28. Jaidynn Giedd (32nd) completed in 25:26.30, and Megan Albrecht (39th) had a time of 28:33.34.
Connor Giedd and Chase Temme both placed in the top 20 to qualify for state. C. Giedd finished 11th with a time of 19:32.13. Temme was 17th in a time of 20:02.46. Jordan Botkin (22nd) had a time of 20:42.53. Gabriel Aughenbaugh (27th) finished in 21:16.95, and Owen Anderson (35th) had a time of 23:36.21.
The 2023 South Dakota State B Cross Country meet will be held at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls on Saturday, October 21st.
