Bulldogs Take Down Castlewood on the Road

The #3 ranked De Smet Bulldogs traveled to Castlewood (receiving votes) and defeated the Warriors 56-36 on Monday, January 23rd.

The Bulldogs needed the halftime adjustment to get the offense rolling in this game.  De Smet led just 8-6 at the end of the first quarter.  The lead only grew to 26-18 by halftime.  After the halftime period, the Bulldogs made a run to start the second half.  They outscored Castlewood 21-8 to put themselves in control of the game, 47-26, heading into the final quarter.

De Smet shot 44% (20-46) overall in the game, 33% (6-18) from three-point area, and 91% (10-11) from the free-throw line.  Castlewood was 33% (15-46) from the field, just 17% (2-12) from three-point area, and 50% (4-8) from the free-throw line.

Damon Wilkinson had another double-double with 25 points and 14 rebounds.  Kasen Janssen finished with 17 points and three assists.  Tom Aughenbaugh added six points and three assists.  George Jensen only had five points, but pulled down 12 rebounds and also had four assists.
