Volga scored in every inning but one to take the win over Dell Rapids on Friday.\u00a0 Each team scored two times in the opening inning.\u00a0 Volga then scored a run in the second and four more in the top of the third for a 7-2 lead.\u00a0 Dell Rapids closed the gap to 7-4 with two runs in the bottom of the third, but Volga added another run in the fourth and two more in the fifth for the win.<\/p>\n
AJ Brandenburg and Connor Hanson each had two singles.\u00a0 Gauge Bunkers and Caiden Borns both had one single.\u00a0 Eli Gullickson pitched two innings and allowed seven runs, six earned, on five hits and two walks with a strikeout.\u00a0 Owen Bollock pitched three innings and allowed three earned runs on six hits and two walks with one strikeout.<\/p>\n
Edgeley scored two times in the bottom of the ninth to pull out a 3-2 win over Dell Rapids also on Friday.\u00a0 Bunkers hit a home run to right field in the top of the first to give Dell Rapids a 1-0 lead.\u00a0 The score stayed 1-0 until the bottom of the seventh.\u00a0 With one out Edgeley tied the game on a sacrifice fly to force extra innings.\u00a0 Kenny Swanson scored on an error in the top of the ninth to put Dell Rapids back in front 2-1.\u00a0 Edgeley, however, won the game on a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the ninth.<\/p>\n
Hanson had two hits, one being a double.\u00a0 Bunkers had a home run and an RBI.\u00a0 Swanson added a triple.\u00a0 AJ Brandenburg and Tommy LaVoy each had a single.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Phils bounced back with a win in their only game on Saturday.\u00a0 Excelsior scored two runs in the top of the first to take a 2-0 lead.\u00a0 Dell Rapids would get a single run in the bottom of the second and then tied the game, 2-2, with another run in the bottom of the third.\u00a0 The Phils went ahead 5-2 with a three-run bottom of the fourth inning.\u00a0 Excelsior cut the lead to 5-3 with a run in the top of the fifth, but the Phils added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth.<\/p>\n
Ryan Brandenburg had three hits and two RBIs.\u00a0 AJ Brandenburg added a single and an RBI.\u00a0 Hanson and Jake Heinitz each had a hit.\u00a0 LaVoy finished with an RBI.\u00a0 R. Brandenburg pitched 3 1\/3 innings and allowed an earned run on two hits and a walk with a strikeout.\u00a0 LaVoy pitched 1 2\/3 innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on two hits and five walks.<\/p>\n\n\n
