Runs were hard to come by for both teams in the game.\u00a0 The score was tied 0-0 until the fifth inning.\u00a0 The Chargers were able to get on the board with a run in the bottom of the fifth.\u00a0 They added another run in the bottom of the sixth for the 2-0 lead.<\/p>\n
Lexi Scherff and Gabriella Carstensen each had two hits.\u00a0 Ella Johnson and Emma Lanpher both had one hit each.\u00a0 Scherff pitched six innings and allowed two runs, both unearned, on seven hits and three walks with one strikeout.<\/p>\n
The Mustangs exploded for 15 runs in the bottom of the third to help them to a 16-0 win over Dell Rapids.\u00a0 Neither team scored in the first inning.\u00a0 Tri-Valley scored one run in the bottom of the second.\u00a0 They then had 11 hits in third inning for the big inning.<\/p>\n
Dell Rapids was held hitless in the game.\u00a0 Scherff and Josie Becker drew walks in the game as the only base runners.\u00a0 Emily Backer pitched 2 1\/3 innings and allowed eight earned runs on eight hits and a walk with four strikeouts.\u00a0 Scherff allowed eight runs on eight hits.<\/p>\n
Aisley Grib had an RBI triple, and Carstensen added an RBI single in the top of the first for an early 2-0 lead for the Quarriers.\u00a0 The Falcons scored one run in the bottom of the inning for a 2-1 score.\u00a0 They would five runs in the bottom of the third to take a 6-2 lead.\u00a0 Lanpher stole home, and Sylea Sykes had an RBI triple in the top of the fourth to cut the lead to 6-4.\u00a0 Florence\/Henry scored three more times in the bottom of the fourth to extend the lead to 9-4.\u00a0 Parker Matzke would steal home in the top of the sixth for the Quarriers and cut the lead to 9-5.\u00a0 The Falcons, however, scored six times in the bottom of the sixth to end the game on the 10-run rule.<\/p>\n
Carstensen had two hits, one a double, and an RBI.\u00a0 Johnson and Matzke each had two singles.\u00a0 Grib and Sykes both had a triple with an RBI.\u00a0 Scherff, Lanpher, and Maci Millage all had one hit each.\u00a0 Baker pitched three innings and allowed six earned runs on two hits and seven walks with four strikeouts.\u00a0 Millage pitched 2 1\/3 innings and allowed nine runs, eight earned, on seven hits and six walks with one strikeout.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
