The Dell Rapids Quarriers split their four matches at the Canton Tournament on Saturday, August 27th, finishing the day with a 2-2 record.\u00a0 Dell Rapids defeated Viborg\/Hurley and Vermillion, but lost to Canton and West Lyon.\u00a0 Sophomore Sophie Randall hit a career milestone of 1,000 set assists in the match against West Lyon.<\/p>\n
Dell Rapids opened the tournament with a 2-1 win over the Viborg\/Hurley Cougars by scores of 25-20, 23-25, and 25-18.<\/p>\n
Maddie Henry led the team with 14 kills in the match.\u00a0 Kylee Fiddelke finished with seven.\u00a0 Lauryn Kloth had two blocks.\u00a0 Alaina Wolff had seven digs, and Henry finished with six.\u00a0 Randall had 24 set assists to lead the team.<\/p>\n
Dell Rapids then faced the Canton C-Hawks in the second match.\u00a0 The C-Hawks won in straight sets by scores of 25-21 and 25-20.<\/p>\n
Henry finished with eight kills in this match.\u00a0 Fiddelke finished with six, and Kloth had four kills.\u00a0 Fiddelke also had two ace serves.\u00a0 Wolff had a team-high 10 digs.\u00a0 Fiddelke finished with five digs, and Randall had three.\u00a0 Randall also had 19 set assists.<\/p>\n
The Wildcats and Quarriers played a very close match in all three games.\u00a0 Dell Rapids took the first set 25-22.\u00a0 West Lyon won the second set by a score of 25-21.\u00a0 The final set went extra time with the Wildcats getting a 27-25 win to take the match.<\/p>\n
Henry had nine kills.\u00a0 Kloth finished with six kills.\u00a0 Cate Traill and Fiddelke each had four kills.\u00a0 Randall finished with four ace serves, and Henry had two aces.\u00a0 Wolff again led the team with 11 digs.\u00a0 Randall had eight digs.\u00a0 Lexi Ingalls and Fiddelke both had six digs, and Kloth and Henry each had five.\u00a0 Randall recorded 22 more set assists, including the 1,000 of her career.<\/p>\n
Dell Rapids ended the day with a straight-set match win against the Vermillion Tanagers.\u00a0 Dell Rapids cruised to a 25-18 and 25-16 victory.<\/p>\n
Henry added eight kills to her day.\u00a0 Fiddelke and Kloth both had four kills each.\u00a0 Randall and Karlie Ingalls both ended with three kills.\u00a0 Randall also had three ace serves, a block, and 16 set assists.\u00a0 L. Ingalls had two ace serves.\u00a0 Wolff finished with seven digs.\u00a0 Henry and Fiddelke each had six.<\/p>\n
