\"\"<\/a>The Dell Rapids Quarrier volleyball team took down AA opponent, Brookings, at home on Thursday, September 18th.\u00a0 The Quarriers won in four sets by scores of 25-9, 25-15, 17-25, and 25-20.<\/p>\n

After an early 2-2 tie to start the first set, Dell Rapids went on a big run the remainder of the set.\u00a0 They led by scores of 8-3, 13-4, and 19-8 before finishing the set on a 6-1 advantage.<\/p>\n

The Bobcats started the second set with a 3-2 lead, but it was short-lived.\u00a0 Dell Rapids went in front 6-5.\u00a0 They continued to hold a two-to-three point lead all the way to a 14-12 score.\u00a0 That’s when the Quarriers went on another run.\u00a0 They outscored Brookings 7-1 to extend the lead to 21-13 and finished the set with a 25-15 win.<\/p>\n

Trailing by two sets, Brookings opened the third set with a 3-2 lead.\u00a0 They then went on a 5-1 run and picked up momentum from there.\u00a0 The Bobcats extended the lead all the way to 18-9.\u00a0 Dell Rapids tried to rally, but couldn’t close the gap.\u00a0 Brookings forced a fourth set with a 25-17 win.<\/p>\n

The Bobcats kept the momentum rolling to start the fourth set and started with a 4-1 lead.\u00a0 Dell Rapids rallied to tie the score 6-6.\u00a0 The Quarriers went in front 8-6 and continued to lead 9-8.\u00a0 They would then go on an 8-1 run to hold a 17-9 advantage.\u00a0 Brookings rallied to within three points at 17-14, 19-16, and 21-18, but that was as close as they could get.\u00a0 Dell Rapids finished the set, and match, with a 25-20 win.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
