{"id":3965,"date":"2025-07-09T11:31:00","date_gmt":"2025-07-09T16:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/dell-rapids\/?p=3965"},"modified":"2025-07-09T11:31:07","modified_gmt":"2025-07-09T16:31:07","slug":"mudcats-split-last-two-games","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/dell-rapids\/2025\/07\/09\/mudcats-split-last-two-games\/","title":{"rendered":"Mudcats Split Last Two Games"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1373\" src=\"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/dell-rapids\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/MudcatsLogo-e1339629044466.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"128\" \/>The Dell Rapids Mudcats earned a split of their last two games.\u00a0 They defeated the Flandreau Blue Teal on Sunday, July 6th but fell to Madison on Tuesday, July 8th.<\/p>\n<h5>Mudcats 7, Blue Teal 2<\/h5>\n<p>Dell Rapids waited until the final two innings, but they rallied for a 7-2 win over the Flandreau Blue Teal.\u00a0 Flandreau scored two times in the top of the first inning.\u00a0 The score remained 2-0 until the bottom of the fifth.\u00a0 Ty Hoglund drove home a pair of runs with a single to tie the game 2-2.\u00a0 The Mudcats used that momentum to score five times in the bottom of the sixth to get the come-from-behind win.<\/p>\n<p>Hoglund finished with two hits and three RBIs.\u00a0 Reece Arbogast also had two hits.\u00a0 Chad Hunt had a single and an RBI.\u00a0 Austin Henry and Josh Roeman both had a double.\u00a0 Sutton Williams added an RBI.\u00a0 Arbogast pitched three innings and allowed two unearned runs on a hit and walk with four strikeouts.\u00a0 Henry pitched four innings and stuck out nine batters.<\/p>\n<h5>Madison 6, Mudcats 3<\/h5>\n<p>Madison Dairy Queen rallied for six straight runs to get a 6-3 win over the Mudcats.\u00a0 Dell Rapids took the lead in the bottom of the first with a run.\u00a0 They scored two more times in the bottom of the third for a 3-0 lead.\u00a0 Madison chipped away at the lead.\u00a0 Dairy Queen scored a run in the top of the fourth and another in the top of the sixth to make the score 3-2.\u00a0 They took the lead, 5-3, with three runs in the top of the eighth and then added an insurance run in the ninth.<\/p>\n<p>Arbogast had two hits and an RBI.\u00a0 Thomas Schuring added a double.\u00a0 Hoglund, Carter Gullickson, and Nolan Burchill all had one hit each.\u00a0 Burchill pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs on five hits and a walk with eight strikeouts.\u00a0 Treyse Eastman pitched three innings and allowed four runs, three earned, on three hits and three walks with a strikeout.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Dell Rapids Mudcats earned a split of their last two games.\u00a0 They defeated the Flandreau Blue Teal on Sunday, July 6th but fell to Madison on Tuesday, July 8th.
