In their first game of the year, PBR held Flandreau to just four total hits.\u00a0 PBR broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the bottom of the second inning.\u00a0 They added two more in the fourth, five in the fifth, and then one more in the sixth.<\/p>\n
CJ Smith had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs.\u00a0 Drew Sweeter had two hits, one a double, and an RBI.\u00a0 Tanner Solberg added two singles and an RBI.\u00a0 Zach Puetz had a double and an RBI.\u00a0 Sweeter pitched six innings allowing four hits without a walk and 11 strikeouts.<\/p>\n
PBR scored three runs right away in the top of the first inning, but the Mudcats responded with 13 straight runs.\u00a0 The Mudcats tied the game with three runs in the bottom of the first.\u00a0 They then scored eight in the bottom of the second and two more in the fourth for a 13-3 lead.\u00a0 PBR had two more runs in the top of the fifth, but the Mudcats ended the game on the 10-run rule with two runs in the bottom of the seventh.<\/p>\n
Puetz had two hits, one a double, and three RBIs.\u00a0 D. Sweeter finished with two doubles and an RBI.\u00a0 Smith also had two hits, including a double, and an RBI.\u00a0 Conner Spindler had two hits as well, one a double.\u00a0 Will Jaton pitched 1 2\/3 innings and allowed 11 runs, five earned, on eight hits and three walks with a strikeout.\u00a0 Beau Behrend pitched 3 1\/3 innings and allowed two earned runs on four hits.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, June 2nd, PBR had a lead going into the bottom of the eighth inning.\u00a0 Brookings, however, would get six runs in the bottom of the inning for the come-from-behind win.\u00a0 The Cubs scored a run in the bottom of the first.\u00a0 PBR tied the game, 1-1, in the top of the second.\u00a0 PBR went ahead 3-1 after two runs in the top of the fourth.\u00a0 Brookings tied the game 3-3 with two runs in the bottom of the fifth.\u00a0 PBR scored another run in the sixth and again in the seventh for a 5-3 lead before Brookings’ rally in the bottom of the eighth.<\/p>\n
Smith finished with two hits, one a double, and an RBI.\u00a0 Puetz had three singles.\u00a0 D.
