Tri-Valley delivered the first blow in the game by scoring four runs in the top of the first inning.\u00a0 The Quarriers responded in a big way by scoring 10 runs in the bottom of the first.\u00a0 They scored nine more in the bottom of the third to end the game on the 15-run rule.<\/p>\n
Claire Wynja had five hits, including three triples, with eight RBIs.\u00a0 Lexi Ingalls had three hits, one a home run, and an RBI.\u00a0 Jaycee Tebay had two hits, one a triple, with two RBIs.\u00a0 Makaylah O’Meara also had two hits, including a double, with two RBIs.\u00a0 Katie Kvigne had a home run and three RBIs.\u00a0 Kylee Fiddelke had a triple and an RBI.\u00a0 Kvigne pitched three innings and allowed four earned runs on six hits and a walk with four strikeouts.<\/p>\n
The Quarriers rallied for four runs in the bottom of the sixth sparked by a three-run double by Rylee Halverson.\u00a0 The four-run sixth put Dell Rapids in front 6-3 to help them advance to the championship game.<\/p>\n
Kvigne had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs.\u00a0 Fiddelke also had two hits, including a double, with an RBI.\u00a0 Halverson had a double and three RBIs.\u00a0 Wynja had three hits, two of them doubles.\u00a0 Ingalls finished with two singles.\u00a0 O’Meara had a double, and Kylie Lebahn had a single.\u00a0 Kvigne pitched seven innings and allowed three earned runs on eight hits and two walks with six strikeouts.<\/p>\n
The Quarriers and Trojans traded leads throughout the championship game.\u00a0 Dell Rapids scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning to take the first lead.\u00a0 West Central scored three in the top of the third for a 3-2 lead.\u00a0 The Quarriers scored single runs in the third and fourth inning for a 4-3 lead.\u00a0 The Trojans took the lead back with a two-run top of the fifth.\u00a0 Dell Rapids responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning.\u00a0 After five innings of play, Dell Rapids led 7-5.<\/p>\n
West Central put up four runs in the top of the sixth to go ahead 9-7.\u00a0 Dell Rapids responded with four runs in the bottom of the sixth to regain the lead 11-9.\u00a0 The Quarriers seemed to have grabbed momentum after taking the lead back in the bottom of the sixth.\u00a0 They retired the first two batters of the seventh inning, but the Trojans rallied for six runs on two outs to take the lead for good.<\/p>\n
