The #7 seeded Beresford Watchdogs drew a tough opponent in the opening round of the 2023 South Dakota State A Softball Tournament.\u00a0 The Watchdogs fell to #2 West Central 16-1 on Thursday, June 1st in Aberdeen.<\/p>\n

West Central took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.\u00a0 The Trojans then put eight more runs on the board in the bottom of the second and another 2 in the bottom of the third for an 11-0 lead.\u00a0 Beresford got their lone run in the top of the fourth.\u00a0 Brenna Dann scored on an error to make the score 11-1.\u00a0 The Trojans ended the game in the bottom of the fourth with five more runs.<\/p>\n

Dann and Ivy Keiser had the only two hits in the game for the Watchdogs.\u00a0 Dann pitched three innings allowing 16 runs, nine of them earned, on 16 hits and one walk.<\/p>\n
