On Tuesday, July 15th, Beresford cruised to a 14-1 victory.\u00a0 They scored three runs right away in the top of the first.\u00a0 Canton got one run in the bottom of the inning making the score 3-1.\u00a0 Beresford’s offense kept rolling from there.\u00a0 They scored two in the second and three more in the third for a 9-1 lead.\u00a0 After a scoreless fourth inning, Beresford plated five more runs in the fifth, and the game ended on the 10-run rule.<\/p>\n
Max Kinney had two hits and two RBIs.\u00a0 Stetson Lounsbery had a hit and two RBIs.\u00a0 Bo Eide added a double and an RBI.\u00a0 Evan Rosheim and Bentley Schurch each had a single with an RBI.\u00a0 Liam Moumy had a hit.\u00a0 Camdyn Meester and Garrison Zweifel each had an RBI.\u00a0 Mason Hofer pitched three innings and allowed an earned run on a hit and three walks with three strikeouts.\u00a0 Lounsbery tossed two innings and had five strikeouts.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, July 17th, Beresford had a double-header against Dakota Valley teams.\u00a0 In the first game, Beresford scored in the first three innings to beat Dakota Valley Purple.\u00a0 They scored two in the first, five in the second, and four more in the third for the 11-0 win in four innings.<\/p>\n
Eide pitched four innings without allowing a hit with two walks and four strikeouts.\u00a0 Karzen Sommervold had two hits with three RBIs.\u00a0 Boston Jensen had two hits and two RBIs.\u00a0 Eide, Lounsbery, and John Savey all had a hit and an RBI each.<\/p>\n
In the game against Dakota Valley White, Beresford scored three runs in the top of the first.\u00a0 Dakota Valley got a run in the bottom of the third to make the score 3-1.\u00a0 Beresford then exploded for 15 runs in the top of the fourth.\u00a0 The game ended after Dakota Valley scored just one run in the bottom of the fourth.<\/p>\n
Hofer had two doubles with two RBIs.\u00a0 Jacob Benson and Jensen both had a single and double with two RBIs each.\u00a0 Sommervold added two hits, one a triple, and an RBI.\u00a0 Lounsbery, Schurch, and Kinny all had a single and an RBI.\u00a0 Zweifel had two RBIs, and Meester had one RBI.\u00a0 Zweifel pitched three innings and allowed an earned run on two hits and a walk with four strikeouts.\u00a0 Sommervold pitched an inning and allowed an earned run on two walks and two strikeouts.<\/p>\n
A big first inning helped Beresford to a win over Clear Lake on Saturday, July 19th.\u00a0 \u00a0Beresford rallied for 12 runs right away in the top of the first.\u00a0 After Clear Lake scored three runs in the second, Beresford had a five-run third inning and then added one more in the fourth.<\/p>\n
Savey had three hits, one a double, and four RBIs.\u00a0 Lounsbery had three hits, two of them doubles, and three RBIs.\u00a0 Hofer also had three hits, including a double, and two RBIs.\u00a0 \u00a0Rosheim added a single and double with an RBI.\u00a0 Kinney and Benson each had a single and two RBIs each.\u00a0 Sommervold, Schurch, and Meester all had one hit and one RBI.\u00a0 \u00a0Zweifel also had a single.\u00a0 Rosheim pitched four innings and allowed three runs, all unearned, on two hits and four walks with six strikeouts.<\/p>\n
In their second game on Saturday, Beresford took an early lead on their way to a 4-1 win.\u00a0 They scored two in the top of the first and another in the second for a 3-0 lead.\u00a0 The score remained 3-0 until the top of the fifth.\u00a0 Beresford added another run to extend the lead to 4-0.\u00a0 Groton scored their lone run in the bottom of the sixth.<\/p>\n
