\"\"The Beresford Watchdog volleyball team won two of three matches at the Big East Tournament held on Thursday, September 12th and Saturday, September 14th.<\/p>\n

Beresford played two matches on Thursday in Baltic.\u00a0 They faced Sioux Valley and Flandreau.\u00a0 In the opening round, the Cossacks took the win in straight sets by scores of 25-21, 25-18, and 28-26.\u00a0 The match with the Fliers went five sets.\u00a0 The first set was a long one with the Fliers winning 32-30.\u00a0 Flandreau also won the second set 25-19 for a 2-0 lead.\u00a0 Beresford stayed alive with a 25-22 win.\u00a0 They forced a fifth set after winning the fourth set in extra points, 26-24.\u00a0 The Watchdogs kept the momentun going and took their third set 15-9 for the match win.<\/p>\n

Beresford then traveled to Salem for the final round of the Big East Tournament on Saturday.\u00a0 The Watchdogs faced the host team, McCook Central\/Montrose.\u00a0 The match was close in all five sets.\u00a0 Beresford took the first set 25-23.\u00a0 The Cougars evened the match with a 25-21 win in the second set.\u00a0 The third set also went to the Cougars by a score of 25-23.\u00a0 The Watchdogs needed extra points in the fourth set, but they were able to tie the match 2-2 after a 27-25 fourth set win.\u00a0 Beresford then would win the fifth set 15-12 to take the match win 3-2.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
