{"id":1438,"date":"2024-04-24T08:58:07","date_gmt":"2024-04-24T13:58:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/beresford\/?p=1438"},"modified":"2024-04-24T08:58:10","modified_gmt":"2024-04-24T13:58:10","slug":"sixth-inning-rally-gives-beresford-softball-a-win-over-lennox","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/beresford\/2024\/04\/24\/sixth-inning-rally-gives-beresford-softball-a-win-over-lennox\/","title":{"rendered":"Sixth Inning Rally Gives Beresford Softball a Win over Lennox"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-258\" src=\"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/beresford\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/BeresfordWatchdogs-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"96\" height=\"96\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/beresford\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/BeresfordWatchdogs-1.png 96w, https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/beresford\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/BeresfordWatchdogs-1-80x80.png 80w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 96px) 100vw, 96px\" \/>The Beresford Watchdogs trailed 9-3 going into the sixth inning.\u00a0 They then scored nine runs in the sixth to earn a 12-11 come-from-behind win over the Lennox Orioles on Tuesday, April 23rd.<\/p>\n<p>Ivy Keiser had a two-run double in the top of the first to give Beresford an early 2-0 lead.\u00a0 Lennox, however, put five runs on the board in the bottom of the first.\u00a0 Tavyn Valder stole home in the top of the second, but the Orioles got that run back in the bottom of the inning.\u00a0 After two innings of play, Lennox led 6-3.\u00a0 The Orioles added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth making the score 9-3.\u00a0 Neither team scored in the fifth inning.<\/p>\n<p>The first five batters for Beresford reached base to start the sixth inning.\u00a0 Kaylee Ivarsen had an RBI single, Valder had an RBI bunt, and Keely Merrigan had an RBI single to make the score 9-6.\u00a0 After Lennox got one out, Reese Olson had an RBI single and Keiser hit a single scoring two more runs to tie the game 9-9.\u00a0 With two outs Ivarsen had a three-run double to put the Watchdogs ahead 12-9.\u00a0 Lennox got a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth making the score 12-11.\u00a0 The Watchdogs were able to get three outs right away in the seventh to secure the win.<\/p>\n<p>Keiser finished with five hits, three of them doubles, and three RBIs.\u00a0 Keeley Merrigan had five singles and an RBI.\u00a0 Ivarsen finished with two hits, one a double, and three RBIs.\u00a0 Olson and Valder both had a single and an RBI.\u00a0 Halle Livingston had three singles, and Kennedy Merrigan\u00a0 and Harley Koth both had one hit each.\u00a0 Keeley Merrigan pitched 3 2\/3 innings and allowed nine runs, but none of them earned, on six hits and a walk with one strikeout.\u00a0 Rylie Laurvick pitched 3 1\/3 innings and allowed two earned runs on three hits with three strikeouts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Beresford Watchdogs trailed 9-3 going into the sixth inning.\u00a0 They then scored nine runs in the sixth to earn a 12-11 come-from-behind win over the Lennox Orioles on Tuesday, April 23rd.
