Beresford Softball Snaps Skid in Win over Lennox

The Beresford Watchdog (2-6) softball team snapped a three-game losing streak with an 11-1 win over the Lennox Orioles on Tuesday, April 25th.

Lennox scored their one and only run in the top of the first inning for an early 1-0 lead.  Kaylee Iversen tied the game with an RBI single in the bottom of the first.  The Watchdogs went ahead in the bottom of the second inning.  Capri Mullinix had an RBI double, Keely Merrigan an RBI ground out, and Lily Seivert an RBI single to give Beresford a 4-1 lead.  They added to the lead with four runs in the bottom of the third.  Mullinix had an RBI single.  Two runs scored on an error, and Reese Olson scored on a wild pitch.  The final three runs came in the bottom of the fifth inning.  Brenna Dann had a two-run triple and then later scored on a wild pitch to end the game on the 10-run rule.

Dann had three hits, one a triple, and two RBIs.  Seivert finished with three singles and an RBI.  Mullinix had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs.  Merrigan and Ivarsen both had two hits and an RBI.  Olson added two singles.  Harley Koth finished with a double.  Kate Degen and Halle Livingston each had a single.  Dann pitched five innings and allowed one earned run on two hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
