The Beresford Jr Legion team won both games of a double-header against Sioux Falls Christian on Wednesday, July 16th.
Beresford 5, Sioux Falls Christian 4
A three-run rally in the sixth inning helped Beresford to a 5-4 come-from-behind win. After two scoreless innings, Beresford scored a run in the top of the of the third. Sioux Falls Christian took the lead, 3-1, with three runs in the bottom of the third. Beresford added a run in the fourth inning. Sioux Falls Christian got the run back in the bottom of the fifth to make the score 4-2. Beresford then rallied for three in the top of the sixth to get the win.
Ashton Oberle had two doubles and an RBI. Tucker Martz had two hits, one a double, and an RBI. Kasen Voss also had two hits, including a triple. Lucas Anderson added a single. Ethan Bobzin pitched four innings and allowed three earned runs on a hit and three walks with five strikeouts. Martz pitched two innings and allowed an unearned run on two walks with three strikeouts.
Beresford 5, Sioux Falls Christian 0
Evan Haak held Sioux Falls Christian to juts two hits and allowed two walk while striking out eight batters to help Beresford to the win. Beresford got a run in the top of the first and another in the third for a 2-0. lead. They scored two more runs in the top of fourth and one more in the fifth for the 5-0 score.
Hogan Hybertson had a hit and two RBIs. Alex Adams had a singe and an RBI. Voss and Ben Seeley each had a triple. Oberle and Martz both had a single, and Ian Henderson had an RBI.
