The Beresford 14U baseball team won two games against Dakota Valley on Tuesday, June 24th. They defeated both Dakota Valley Purple and Dakota Valley White.
Beresford 9, Dakota Valley Purple 1
A big second inning was key for Beresford in their game against Dakota Valley Purple. Beresford scored a run in the bottom of the first and then had a six-run second inning to extend the lead to 7-0. Dakota Valley scored their lone run in the top of the third. Beresford added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Stetson Lounsbery had two hits, one a double and three RBIs. Evan Rosheim also had two hits, including a double, and an RBI. Boston Jensen added a double and an RBI. Bo Eide had a single with an RBI, and Max Kinney also had a hit. Roesheim pitched four of the five innings and allowed an unearned run on two hits and three walks with four strikeouts.
Beresford 8, Dakota Valley White 4
Beresford scored in both the first and fourth innings to defeat Dakota Valley White. Three runs came home in the bottom of the first to give Beresford a 3-0 lead. Dakota Valley scored a run in the top of the second inning and then two more in the top of the fourth to tie the game 3-3. Beresford responded with five runs in the bottom of the fourth. Dakota Valley tried to rally in the fifth, but was only able to score only one run.
Bentley Schurch had two hits and two RBIs. Rosheim had two hits with an RBI. Karzen Sommervold and Lounsbery both had a single. Garrison Zweifel pitched two innings and allowed an unearned run on a walk with three strikeouts. Mason Hofer pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed an unearned run on two hits with two strikeouts.
