Beresford Softball Punches Ticket to State Tournament

The Beresford Watchdogs softball team will be heading to the state tournament after a 6-2 win over the Mobridge-Pollock Tigers in the SoDak 16 on Wednesday, May 22nd.

Halle Livingston gave Beresford the lead in the bottom of the second after scoring on an error.  Reese Olson also scored on an error, and Anna Latendresse scored on a wild pitch for a 3-0 lead.  The score stayed 3-0 until the top of the fifth inning.  The Tigers scored two times to cut the lead to 3-2.  The Watchdogs got three big runs in the bottom of the fifth.  Olson had an RBI single, Harley Koth had an RBI double, and Capri Mullinix had an RBI single for a 6-2 score.

Koth finished with a double and an RBI.  Olson and Mullinix both had a single and an RBI each.   Tavyn Valder also had an RBI.  Rylie Laurvick pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs on three hits with five strikeouts.
