Beresford Softball Three Game Winning Streak Stopped

The Beresford Watchdogs had their three-game winning streak stopped on Tuesday, May 14th.  The Watchdogs rally fell short as the Gayville-Volin Raiders took the win 4-3.

The Raiders scored all four of their runs in the bottom of the first inning.  The Watchdogs scored on an error and got an RBI sacrifice fly by Keely Merrigan to cut the lead to 4-2 in the top of the third.  The score stayed 4-2 until the top of the seventh.  Tavyn Valder had an RBI single with one out to make the score 4-3.  The next two batters, however, got out and the rally fell short.

Kennedy Merrigan had three hits, including a triple and double.  Valder had two singles and an RBI.  Keely Merrigan had a single and an RBI.  Rylie Laurvick pitched six innings and allowed four runs, three earned, on five hits and a walk with 11 strikeouts.
