The Beresford Jr Legion team earned their second win of the Region 3B Tournament on Tuesday, July 29th. They defeated Canton 16-4 to remain unbeaten in the bracket.
Beresford score the first seven runs of the game. They got five runs in the top of the fifth and two more in the second. Canton pushed three runs across the plate in the bottom of the third to make the score 7-3, but that was as close as they would get the rest of the game. Beresford scored four times in the top of the fourth for an 11-3 score. After both teams got a run in the fifth inning, Beresford had another four-run inning in the sixth before the game ended on the 10-run rule.
Ethan Bobzin had three hits, including a home run, and three RBIs. Ashton Oberle had two hits. Charlie Eide and Tucker Martz each had a single with two RBIs. Ian Henderson added a double with an RBI. Kasen Voss also had a double, and Lucas Anderson had a single. Evan Haak pitched four innings and allowed three runs, one earned, on five hits and a walk with six strikeouts. Bobzin pitched two innings and allowed an unearned run on a hit and two walks with two strikeouts.
