The Beresford Jr Legion baseball team earned their seventh straight win after an 8-3 victory over Dakota Valley on Tuesday, July 1st.
Beresford grabbed the lead in the top of the first and continued to build on it throughout the game. They got one run right away for a 1-0 lead. They scored another run in the top of the third for a 2-0 score. Dakota Valley got a run in the bottom of the third to cut the lead to 2-1. Beresford then scored six straight. They got one in the fifth, three in the sixth, and two more in the seventh for an 8-1 advantage. Dakota Valley scored two times in the bottom of the seventh.
Ashton Oberle had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs. Charlie Eide and Tucker Martz both had two hits with an RBI each. Ethan Bobzin had two doubles. Hogan Hybertson had a single and an RBI. Evan Haak and Cam Mullinix each had a single, and Ben Seeley had an RBI. Kasen Voss pitched 6 1/3 innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Haak pitched the final 2/3 of an inning and allowed an unearned run on three hits with one strikeout.
