The Beresford Watchdog softball team blanked the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies at home, 7-0, on Friday, May 9th.
The two teams played a scoreless first inning. Beresford put four runs on the board in the bottom of the second. Lily Seivert and Ashlynn Olson both had a triple. Reese Olson had an RBI double, and Keely Merrigan added an RBI single in the inning. The Watchdogs added three more runs in the bottom of the third. Harley Koth scored on an error, and Seivert had a two-run home run. Beresford led 7-0 after three innings and maintained that score the rest of the game.
Seivert had three hits, including a triple and home run, and had three RBIs. Keely Merrigan had two hits and an RBI. Koth finished with a single and a triple. A. Olson added a triple. R. Olson had a double and an RBI. Capri Mullinix had a single. Rylie Laurvick pitched five innings and allowed a hit and three walks with a strikeout. Brynlee Mohning pitched two innings and allowed two hits with one strikeout.
