The Beresford high school baseball team suffered a Mother’s Day loss to Elk Point-Jefferson, 17-2, on Sunday, May 11th.
Elk Point-Jefferson scored their first run in the bottom of the first. Beresford took a brief lead, 2-1, in the top of the second with two runs. Elk Point-Jefferson scored another run in the bottom of the second, and the game was tied 2-2 after two innings of play. Elk Pont-Jefferson then had a big 11-run third inning. They scored four more times in the bottom of the fourth to end the game on the 15-run rule.
Evan Rosheim had a single with two RBIs. Jax Fickbohm had the other hit for Beresford. Kasen Voss pitched 3 1/3 innings and allowed 15 runs, five earned, on 10 hits and two walks with three strikeouts. Cooper Nelson pitched 1/3 of an inning and allowed two unearned runs on two hits with one strikeout.
