Watchdogs Fall Victim to Late Rally by Panthers

The Beresford Watchdogs scored 10 runs in the final three innings to take a 13-8 win over the Beresford Watchdogs on Saturday, April 26th.

Dakota Valley struck first with a run in the top of the first.  The Watchdogs scored two times in their half of the first for a 2-1 lead.  Both teams scored a run in both the second and third innings.  The Watchdogs led 4-3 after three innings.  After a scoreless fourth inning, the Panthers had a six-run top of the fifth inning.  The Watchdogs responded with four innings, but Dakota Valley led 9-8 after five innings.  The Panthers scored two runs in the sixth and another two runs in the top of the seventh to secure the win.

Ivy Keisler had two hits and three RBIs.  Keely Merrigan added two doubles and an RBI.  Brynlee Mohning had a home run and two RBIs.  Anna Latendresse had a double and an RBI.  Reese Olson added a single with an RBI.  Tavyn Valder, Kennedy Merrigan, and Ashlynn Olson all had one hit each.

Rylie Laurvick pitched 4 1/3 innings and allowed five runs, four earned, on seven hits and two walks with six strikeouts.  Mohning pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed eight runs, six earned, on eight hits and a walk.
