Early Runs Helps Trappers to Win over Beresford

The Beresford high school baseball team suffered a road loss to the Scotland/Menno Trappers, 7-3, on Wednesday on April 23rd.

Scotland/Menno broke a 0-0 tie with three runs in the bottom of the second.  They scored two more runs in the third and another in the fourth for a 6-0 lead.  Beresford cut the lead in half, 6-3, with three runs in the top of the fifth inning.  The Trappers added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth.

Ashton Oberle had two hits, one a double, with two RBIs.  Cooper Nelson had a double.  Kasen Voss and Ian Henderson each had a single.  Ethan Bovill pitched three innings and allowed five runs, all unearned, on four hits and two walks with six strikeouts.  Oberle also pitched three inniings and and allowed two unearned runs on three hits with three strikeouts.
