The Beresford high school baseball hosted Vermillion on Wednesday, April 16th. Vermillion took advantage of a five-run first inning on their way to an 11-6 victory.
Vermillion maintained a 5-0 lead until the top of the fourth inning. They would add three more runs to extend the lead to 8-0. Beresford had a big bottom of the fourth inning scoring six times to cut the lead to 8-6. Vermillion, however, would add two runs in the top of the sixth and another in the seventh to secure the win.
Cooper Nelson had two singles. Ashton Oberle added a double with two RBIs. Jace Adams and Evan Rosheim each had a single and an RBI. Jax Fickbohm and Ian Henderson each had a single. Kasen Voss and Max Kinney both had an RBI. Voss pitched 2/3 of an inning and allowed five earned runs on five hits and two walks with one strikeout. Nelson pitched 3 1/3 innings and allowed three earned runs on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts. Henderson threw three innings and also allowed three runs, none of them earned, on a hit and three walks while striking out one.
