Late Rally Gives Dakota Valley Win over Beresford

The Beresford Watchdogs suffered a tough loss on Friday, April 11th.  The Panthers scored five late runs to take a 10-6 win over the Watchdogs.

The Panthers scored the first two runs on the game.  They scored a single run in each of the first two innings for a 2-0 lead.  Beresford tied the game with two runs in the top of the third.  Dakota Valley regained the lead, 3-2, with a run in the bottom of the fourth.

Beresford took their first lead in the top of the fifth.  The Watchdogs scored three times to go in front 5-3.  Dakota Valley tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the fifth.  Beresford would go back in front, 6-5, with another run in the top of the sixth.  The Panthers would take the game by scoring five times in the bottom of the sixth.

Lily Seivert had three hits and two RBIs.  Keely Merrigan had three hits, two of them doubles, and an RBI.  Reese Olson had three hits and an RBI.  Brynlee Mohning added two singles and an RBI.  Harley Koth had a double and an RBI.  Tavyn Valder had two singles.  Ivy Keiser and Kennedy Merrigan each had a double.  Kate Degen also had a single.

Mohning pitched 5 2/3 innings allowing 10 runs, nine earned, on 14 hits and three walks with three strikeouts.  Rylie Laurvick pitched 1/3 of an inning and allowed one walk.
