Beresford Softball Falls Short Against Madison

The Beresford Watchdogs fell short against the Madison Bulldogs on Thursday, April 10th.  The Bulldogs pulled away for an 18-8 victory in six innings.

Beresford scored two runs right away in the top of the first.  The lead was short-lived as Madison scored four times in the bottom of the inning for a 4-2 lead.  Madison added another run in the bottom to increase the lead to 5-2.  Beresford got a run back in the top of the third to pull within two runs, 5-3.  The Bulldogs put five runs on the board in the bottom of the third to extend the lead to 10-3.

The Watchdogs put together another rally in the top of the fourth.  Beresford scored five times and again pulled within two runs, 10-8.  Madison took the momentum back in the bottom of the fourth with six runs.  They ended the game on the 10-run rule with two runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Tavyn Valder had three hits with an RBI.  Keely Merrigan had two hits with an RBI.  Kennedy Merrigan had a single with two RBIs.  Reese Olson and Lily Seivert both had a hit and an RBI each.  Brynlee Mohning added a double.  Harley Koth and Ivy Keiser each had a single.

Rylie Laurvick pitched 2 2/3 innings allowing 10 earned runs on 11 hits and two walks with three strikeouts.  Mohning also pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed eight runs, five earned, on five hits and three walks with two strikeouts.
