Beresford Baseball Rides Big Inning to Win

The Beresford high school baseball team used a big inning to earn a 16-2 win over Irene/Wakonda on Monday, April 7th.

Irene/Wakonda took the lead with a run in the top of the first inning.  They added to the lead, 2-0, with another run in the top of the second.  Beresford got their first run in the bottom of the first.  They would take the lead in the bottom of the third, 3-2, with two runs.  Beresford delivered the big blow by scoring 13 times in the bottom of the fourth inning.  The game ended on the 10-run rule after five innings.

Cooper Nelson had three hits, one a double, with an RBI.  Kasen Voss added two hits and three RBIs.  Ethan Bovill had two hits, one a triple, and two RBIs.  Ashton Oberle had a single and two RBIs.  Ben Seeley also had a single with an RBI.  Ian Henderson had two RBIs, and Boston Jensen had an RBI.  Voss pitched five innings and allowed two runs, both unearned, on two hits and a walk with six strikeouts.
