In a tightly contested baseball matchup, Freeman/Canistota/Marion Varsity claimed victory over Beresford with a 3-2 win on Friday, March 28th. The game was marked by strong pitching performances, timely hitting, and impressive defensive plays on both sides.
Freeman/Canistota/Marion scored an early run in the top of the first inning. They added two more in the top of the third for a 3-0 lead. Jace Adams sparked the Beresford offense with a triple in the third inning, eventually scoring Beresford’s first run after a single by Ashton Oberle. L Anderson scored on an error in the bottom of the seventh inning to cut the lead to 3-2, but Beresford was unable to bring home the tying run.
Adams finished with a triple. Oberle had a single and an RBI. Ethan Bovil pitched five innings and allowed three earned runs on six hits with two walks and eight strikeouts. Oberle pitched two innings and allowed two hits.
