The Beresford Watchdog volleyball team snapped a four-game losing streak with a road win at Flandreau on Tuesday, October 8th. After dropping the first set, Beresford took the next three for a 3-1 win.
Flandreau started the first set with a 3-0 run. The Watchdogs cut the lead to 5-4, but the Fliers went on a 5-1 run to extend the lead to 10-5. They would extend the lead to 13-6, but Beresford went on an 8-1 run to tie the score 14-14. Flandreau would go back in front 20-18 only to have the Watchdogs tie the score again 22-22. The Fliers scored the final three points for a 25-22 win.
The second set started with ties of 2-2 and 4-4. The Watchdogs went ahead 8-4 and continued to increase their lead to 20-10. They would take the second set 25-12. Beresford started the third set with a 4-1 run. Flandreau kept things close as Beresford led 11-8. The Watchdogs then went on a 5-1 run to extend the lead to 16-9. They were able to keep the momentum going to another 25-12 win.
Flandreau started the fourth set with a 5-2 lead. Beresford responded with a 6-1 run to go in front 8-6. They continued to lead by two points at 15-13. Flandreau would take the lead back at 17-15. The Watchdogs tied the score 18-18 and again 20-20. The Fliers would again go in front by two, 23-21. Beresford would answer to tie 23-23. The score was tied 24-24 and 25-25, then the Watchdogs scored the final two points for a 27-25 win.
