The Beresford Watchdogs made the trip to Dakota Valley High School for a football game against the Panthers on Friday, October 4th. The Panthers handed the Watchdogs their fourth straight loss, 33-12, after scoring 20 straight points late in the second half.
Dakota Valley scored the first two touchdowns in the firsts half, making one extra point, for a 13-0 lead. Beresford got on the board right before halftime. With :32 remaining, #2 connected with #11 on a 13-yard touchdown pass on third down to cut the lead to 13-6.
The Watchdogs got the first score of the second half with 5:31 to play in the third quarter. #11 got a defender to bite on an inside route fake, allowing him to get down the sideline wide open. #2 threw a perfect pass, and Beresford scored on the 83-yard pass to cut the lead to 13-12.
The Panthers would answer on their next drive. With 1:42 to play in the third quarter, they scored on a five-yard touchdown run and made the extra point to make the score 20-12. They would add another score on a six-yard run with 9:04 to play in the game, extending their lead to 26-12. The final touchdown, and extra point, came on a one-yard run with 4:41 left in the game.
