The Beresford Watchdogs volleyball team hosted the Parker Pheasants on Tuesday, September 17th. The Pheasants won the match in four sets by scores of 25-20, 19-25, 25-17, and 25-19.
Parker started the first set with a 4-1 run and was able to stay in front the entire set. The Pheasants increased their lead to 14-6. The Watchdogs got within four points, 16-12, but Parker kept the lead and won 25-20. The second set started with a 5-5 tie. The score was again tied 9-9, but then Beresford went on an 8-3 run for a 17-12 lead. Parker cut the lead to 18-15, but the Watchdogs pushed the lead back to five at 22-17 and then took the second set 25-19.
The Pheasants opened the third set 4-1 and went ahead 7-3. Beresford trailed 13-9, but then scored five in a row to take a 14-13 lead. Parker responded with a 6-2 run for a 19-17 lead. The Pheasants finished the set on a 6-0 run for a 25-17 win. The fourth set started with a 4-4 tie. Beresford went ahead 8-6, but the score was tied again 13-13. Parker then went on a 6-0 run for a 19-13 lead, and that run was key to the win. The Pheasants stayed in front the rest of the way for the 25-19 win.
