The Beresford Watchdog volleyball team got their first three wins of the year and finished 3-1 at the Irene-Wakonda Tournament on Saturday, September 7th.
In their first match, the Watchdogs beat Menno in three sets. They won the first one 25-9. Menno rebounded and took the second set 25-21. The third set needed extra points, but the Watchdogs got the win 27-25 to win the match. The Watchdogs then played the Canistota Hawks and won that match in straight sets. Beresford cruised to wins of 25-10 and 25-16.
The next match was against Platte-Geddes. The Watchdogs won the first set 25-20 and then had no trouble in the second set, winning 25-13. The three wins put the Watchdogs into a semifinal bracket play. Beresford faced Gayville-Volin. The Raiders, however, ended the day for Beresford winning the match in straight sets by scores of 25-22 and 25-15.
