The Beresford Watchdogs volleyball team had their second straight road match to start the season on Thursday, August 29th. The Watchdogs traveled to Garretson and suffered a straight set loss.
The Blue Dragons started with a 4-1 run. Beresford pulled within a point, 5-4, and was still within a point at 10-9. Garretson then went on a 5-1 run for a 15-10 lead. They maintained that five-point lead, 19-14, before ending the first set on a 6-1 run for a 25-15 win.
After a 2-2 start to the second set, Beresford scored the next three points for a 5-2 lead. Garretson tied the score 6-6 and then took a three point lead, 11-8. They would then go on a 6-3 advantage to extend their lead to 17-11. The Watchdogs went on a 6-0 run themselves to tie the set 17-17. Garretson, however, ended the set on an 8-1 run for a 25-18 win.
The Blue Dragons built an early three point lead, 6-3, to start the third set. They kept that three-point advantage at scores of 9-6, 11-8, and 13-10. The Blue Dragons extended the lead to 17-12. Beresford again rallied with a 6-1 run to tie the score 18-18. Garretson responded with a run of their own of 7-1 to end the match with a 25-19 win.
