The Post 72 Jr Legion baseball team played Sioux Falls Christian Post 911 in a Region 2B game on Tuesday, July 30th. Post 72 took the win 14-0 to finish second in the region and qualify for the state tournament.
The offense scored in every inning of the game while holding Sioux Falls Christian to just three hits in the game. Post 72 got two runs in the top of the first, one in the second, four in the third, six in the fourth, and the one in the fifth for the 14-0 score before the game ended on the 10-run rule after five innings.
Alec Austin had a big day at the plate hitting two home runs and a single with six RBIs. Noah Schoenfelder had two hits. Aiden Bobzin had a triple and an RBI. Ashton Oberle added a double and an RBI. Tucker Martz and Tommy Walth both had a single and RBI each. Jax Fickbohm also had a single. Miles Eide and Kasen Voss each had an RBI. Bobzin pitched all five innings and allowed just three hits and two walks with eight strikeouts.
Post 72 will play W.I.N Post 137 in the opening round of the state tournament on Friday, August 9th in Groton.
