The Beresford/Alcester-Hudson Black Sox 14U team took a tough 13-3 loss to Elk Point-Jefferson on Sunday, July 7th.
Elk Point-Jefferson scored four times in the bottom of the first inning for a 4-0 lead. The Black Sox scored three in the top of the second to cut the lead to 4-3, but Elk Point-Jefferson responded with three runs themselves in the bottom of the second for a 7-3 advantage. Their offense then had three more runs in the bottom of the third and three again in the bottom of the fourth.
Caleb Hansen had a single and an RBI. Evan Rosheim and Emmett Manning each had an RBI. John Savey pitched two innings and allowed six runs, three earned, on four hits and six walks with two strikeouts. Hansen pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed seven runs, six earned, on seven hits and a walk with one strikeout.
