The Beresford/Alcester-Hudson Black Sox 14U team won both games of a doubleheader against Lennox on Tuesday, July 2nd.
Black Sox 8, Lennox 7
Beresford/Alcester-Hudson held off Lennox’s rally for a win the first game. The Black Sox scored two runs in the bottom of the second. Lennox took the lead 5-2 after a five-run top of the second. The Black Sox scored a run in the bottom of the second and then took a 6-5 lead after three runs in the bottom of the third. They extended the lead to 8-5 with a two-run fourth inning. Lennox rallied for two runs in the sixth, but the Black Sox ended that for the win.
Karzen Sommervold and Mason Hofer both had two hits and two RBIs each. Maxwell Kinney and Evan Rosheim both also had two hits apiece. Cameron Mullinex addedd a double. John Savey and Alex Adams both had one RBI. Ian Henderson pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed five earned runs on eight hits and two walks with eight strikeouts. Benjamin Seeley pitched 2/3 of an inning and allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks with one strikeout.
Black Sox 9, Lennox 1
Lennox scored a run in the top of the first, but their 1-0 lead was short lived. The Black Sox scored three runs in the bottom of the first and then six in the bottom of the third.
Nine different players had hits in the game. Hofer had a double and an RBI. Colt Ver Mulm and Boston Jensen each had a single and an RBI. Liam Moumy, Adan Fickbolm, Emmett Manning, Caleb Hansen, Savey, and Rosheim all had one single each. Hansen pitched two innings and allowed two hits with three strikeouts. Savey pitched one inning and allowed an earned run on two hits with one strikeout.
