Dakota Valley Beats Black Sox in Region Play

The Beresford/Alcester-Hudson Black Sox lost in five innings to Dakota Valley in region play on Wednesday, May 22nd by a score of 13-3.

Dakota Valley took the lead right away in the bottom of the first with two runs.  The Black Sox scored a run in the top of the second, but Dakota Valley got that run back in the bottom of the inning to make the score 3-1.  Neither team scored in third inning, but then Dakota Valley scored three times in the bottom of the fourth to extend the lead to 6-1.  Beresford/Alcester-Hudson scored three times in the top of the fifth to make the score 6-4, but Dakota Valley scored seven times in the bottom of the fifth to end the game on the 10-run rule.

Robert Watkins had a single and two RBIs.  Ethan Bovill, Ashton Oberle, Joseph Anderson, and Jace Adams all had a single.  Ian Henderson finished with an RBI.  Bovill pitched three innings and allowed six runs, four earned, on eight hits and four walks with two strikeouts.  Kason Voss pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed seven runs, six earned, on three hits and four walks with one strikeout.
