The Beresford Watchdog volleyball team traveled to Parker for a match against the Pheasants on Tuesday, September 12th. The Pheasants took the win in four sets by scores of 21-25, 25-20, 25-23, and 25-23.
Parker jumped out to a 5-0 lead to start the first set. Beresford rallied for a 14-5 run to take a 14-10 lead. They pushed the lead to 19-12. The Watchdogs led 23-17 before winning the first set 25-21. The Watchdogs got the quick start, 4-1, in the second set. Parker went on a 6-0 run for a 7-4 lead. Beresford countered with a 6-0 run of their own to regain the lead 10-7. The Pheasants tied the score 10-10 and continued to pull away from there. Parker went ahead 14-11 and maintained that lead at 18-15. They extended the lead 23-16 before winning 25-20.
Parker carried the momentum into the third set and ahead 6-2. Beresford went on a 12-4 run to go ahead 14-10. The lead remained at for for the Watchdogs at 16-12. Parker tied the set 17-17 and then slowly built a 23-20 lead. The Watchdogs tied the score 23-23, but the Pheasants scored the final two points for a 25-23 win.
Beresford started the fourth set on fire with a 7-0 run. Parker rallied to tie the score 9-9 and then went ahead 13-9. The lead for Parker grew to 15-10. The Watchdogs went on a 9-2 run to go back in front 19-17. The score got tied again at 20-20. Beresford scored three in a row for a 23-20 lead, but Parker ended the set and match on a 5-0 run for the 25-23 win.
