The Beresford Watchdogs kept pace with 11B #1 Winner for the first half on Friday, September 8th. But the Watchdogs were too much as they scored four times in the second half in a 42-13 victory in Beresford.
The Warriors scored first late in the opening quarter on a seven-yard touchdown run. With 2:44 to play in the quarter, Winner led 6-0. The Watchdogs tied the game seconds later. Gaval Valder returned the ensuing kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown. The game was tied 6-6 after the first quarter. Winner scored the only touchdown in the second quarter on a 33-yard run with 11:52 to play in the half. The Warriors led 12-6 at halftime.
Winner, however, made some big adjustments at halftime and their offense got rolling in they second half. They scored on a 13-yard touchdown run and a four-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Converting on both two-point conversions put them ahead 28-6 going into the final quarter. The Warrior defense got a score in the fourth quarter on a 40-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown with 6:54 left in the game. Jax Fickbohm found the endzone with 1:53 to go on an eight-yard run. The extra point was made by Payden Hoffman making the score 36-13. Winner would return the kickoff 75-yard for a touchdown for the final score of the game.
