The Beresford Watchdog football team dropped its first home game of the season on Friday, September 1st. The Watchdogs hosted the Canton C-Hawks with Canton winning 42-14.
The C-Hawks scored three times in the first quarter. They returned a fumble for 28 yards for a touchdown with 10:19 to play in the quarter. Canton added a 14-yard touchdown pass with 6:34 in the quarter. The final score came on an 11-yard touchdown run with 2:13 remaining in the quarter. Canton led 22-0 after the first quarter.
They extended the lead with three more scores in the second quarter. With 9:14 to play in the half, Canton got a 13-yard touchdown pass. They added a 24-yard touchdown run with 5:09 left, and then a one-yard touchdown run with 3:05 left in the half. The C-Hawks led 42-0 at halftime.
Beresford got two scores in the second half. Robert Watkins had a nine-yard touchdown run with :50 left in the third quarter. Gaval Valder had the other touchdown on a one-yard run with 5:17 left in the game.
