BAH 14U Black Sox Lose Lead Late, Fall to Centerville

There Beresford/Alcester-Hudson 14U Black Sox lost a 10-3 lead and fell 11-10 to Centerville on Tuesday, June 13th.

Evan Haak and Payden Hoffman both had RBI singles.  Lucas Anderson had a two-run single, Ashton Oberle was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, and Owen Serck walked with the bases loaded in the top of the first inning to give the Black Sox a 6-0 lead.  Centerville got two runs in the bottom of the inning.  Evan Dressen had a bases loaded walk, and Oberle had a two-run single to extend the lead to 9-2. Centerville had one more run in the bottom of the second.

Kasen Voss scored on an error in the top of the third inning, and the Black Sox led 10-3 at that point.  Centerville made the score 10-4 with a run in the bottom of the fourth.  The big blow came in the bottom of the sixth when Centerville scored seven times to take an 11-10 lead.

Oberle had two hits, one a double, and three RBIs.  Anderson had two hits and two RBIs.  Serck, Haak, and Hoffman all finished with a single and an RBI.  Voss had a double.  Dressen added an RBI.  Oberle pitched three innings allowing three earned runs on four hits and four walks with four strikeouts.  Hoffman pitched 2 2/3 innings allowing six earned runs on two hits and six walks with two strikeouts.  Voss pitched 1/3 of an inning and allowed an earned run on two hits with one strikeout.  Anderson allowed an earned run on a hit and a walk.
