Watchdogs Fall to Tea in Home Softball Game

The Beresford Watchdogs hosted the Tea Area Titans on Monday, April 24th.  The Watchdogs had a lead after the first inning, but Tea scored 15 unanswered runs for the 16-3 win.

The Titans did score a run in the top of the first inning, but Beresford scored three times in the bottom of the first.  Brenna Dann had a two-run double, and Tavyn Valder reached on an error scoring Dann to put the Watchdogs ahead 3-1.  The Titans would take the lead in the top of the second with four runs.  They scored four more in the fourth, two in the fifth, and then five in the sixth.

Dann had a double with two RBIs.  Reese Olson, Keely Merrigan, and Kaylee Ivarsen all had a single in the game.  Valder also had an RBI.  Dann pitched 4 1/3 innings and allowed 12 runs, five earned, on 10 hits and three walks with two strikeouts.  Merrigan pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks with two strikeouts.  Lily Seievert pitched 1/3 of an inning and allowed two earned runs on a hit and a walk.
